We have lots to do during the month of December. I hope that our class was well represented at the Christmas concert on December 2nd. We will be having a family night called Winter Wonderland from 6--7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9th. We expect to have a wonderful evening of family fun--making ornaments, making reindeer food, creating cards for the senior citizens at Eunice Smith nursing home, having a family Christmas picture taken and more.
The excitement level is high and so are the expectaions for the students during this busy time.
Our first semester ends on Friday, December 19th which is our last day before Christmas vacation. During this period we will be doing our second quarter assessments. Keep working on letter names and sounds, picking two rhyming words out of a set of three words, reading our popcorn words and sounding out short words. Work related to math includes naming the numbers from 0-20, patterning, counting orally to 50, recognizing and drawing shapes. It is a lot to do and we need to keep the children focused!
